With the emerging demand and popularity of IoT devices, many areas and sectors started looking for ways to integrate their existing devices to smart grids and cloud-based technologies. For this reason, we are developing a proof-of-concept project that makes use of edge devices transmitting sensor values with timestamps to a centralized data storage via REST API, MQTT, Modbus and IEC 104 to demonstrate integration of such IoT devices. There is a web dashboard that enables users to display data trends for selected time periods and real-time data. Furthermore, users are able to create custom alarm conditions, generate reports and manage edge devices such as authorization, configuration and displaying system usage. End product also works with all type of edge devices supporting REST.
