Stocktion aims to bridge the gap between photographers and stock image companies. Currently, photographers are struggling with issues such as what stock image company to sell their images to, and from which one they get the best money for their effort. To resolve this issue, our project makes the stock image companies bid for the images and therefore make them compete for quality images while also providing the photographers possibly better return on their effort. In order to let stock image companies find the possible candidate images to bid on, our app includes a community voting system to easily let them see which images are liked more by most people, and in turn reward the community users who vote on the best selected image based on a percentage of the final bid closing amount to get more truthful opinions and also incentivize people to use the app. In other words, our project Stocktion allows photographers to sell their images through a bidding system, where stock image companies compete for popular images, and community voters are rewarded for helping identify top content.
