The Sleepy Driver Detection project is designed to address the growing concern of road accidents caused by driver fatigue and drowsiness. Fatigue-related crashes are a significant issue, especially among long-distance drivers, leading to severe injuries, fatalities, and financial losses. Our solution aims to mitigate these risks by providing a mobile application capable of detecting early signs of drowsiness and fatigue through real-time eye-tracking and lane monitoring. Using the mobile device’s camera or an external camera, the system analyzes driver behavior, such as eye closures and yawning, to trigger alerts when fatigue is detected. The project is focused on creating a cost-effective, user-friendly application that can be used by any driver, regardless of their vehicle type, unlike existing solutions which are often restricted to luxury car models. By delivering timely warnings and detailed driving reports, the Sleepy Driver Detection system will help drivers remain alert and improve overall road safety, making it a valuable tool for both personal drivers and fleet managers.
